Rosehip is a low thorny shrub 60-200 cm high with ascending branches. Flowering branches have almost no thorns. The leaves are spiral-shaped, with stipules, the leaflets are elongated-ovate or oval, wedge-shaped towards the base, short-pointed at the apex, bluish-green above, mostly glabrous, covered with hairs below, simply serrated along the edge without glands. The flowers are large, pink, regular. The fruits are berry-shaped. Blooms in May – June. There are more than 60 species of rose hips.
Rosehip grows throughout Russia. It also grows in Belarus and Ukraine. Rosehip often grows in floodplains of rivers, in meadows, in sparse forests, on forest edges, clearings, clearings, among thickets of bushes, and in ravines.

Rose hips contain a high concentration of ascorbic acid, vitamins B, PP, K, panthenolic acid, flavonoids (quercitrin, kaempferol, hyperoside, astralgin, etc.), phenolic acids, pectic substances, organic acids, salts of iron, manganese, phosphorus, magnesium , calcium.

Rose hips are used for the prevention and treatment of hypovitaminosis C and P; as part of complex therapy for asthenic conditions, during the recovery period after infectious and colds, surgical operations. Its fruits are included in many preparations and dietary supplements. Rose hips are used in the treatment of allergic skin diseases, atopic dermatitis with often accompanying dysbacteriosis.

During the industrial processing of plant raw materials, ascorbic acid preparations, vitamin P, carotenoid preparations, and tocopherols in the form of seed oil are obtained from rose hips.

Rosehip fruits are traditionally included in various vitamin teas, various syrups and tinctures.
